Аннотация. В статье рассматривается формирование негативного образа Республики Соединенных провинций в английской публицистике третьей четверти XVII в. анализируются ключевые идеи и стереотипы, использованные при его формировании. Особое внимание уделено обращению публицистов к вопросам торгового и политического противостояния двух государств.

Abstract. The article deals with the formation of the negative image of the Dutch Republic in English pamphlets of the third quarter of the 17th century. The key ideas and stereotypes used in its formation are studied. Particular attention is paid to the appeal made by the pamphleteers to the issues of economic and political confrontation between the two states
